BDSM as a Healing Space: Techniques for Trauma Survivors

This trauma‑informed workshop is designed for those who want to explore kink within a healthy, intentional space. We’ll discuss how and why these activities can support a healing journey as well as recognizing when it’s not the right tool. Discover methods to dip your toes back into play or find alternative ways to connect and experience pleasure without certain pressures or someone else present. Let’s talk about building safe containers with clear boundaries and check‑ins that center your autonomy. Learn how to have effective negotiations that can help ease nervousness or hesitancy. Gain insights into crafting a care plan including grounding techniques to manage activated feelings. Explore somatic exercises to get you back in your body and stay present in the moment. We will also cover how anxious, avoidant, or disorganized patterns can show up in a scene. Our time is not just for those who have experienced SA but anything under the trauma umbrella including systemic, generational, and developmental. Walk away with effective ways to engage with and support a partner who has this history.

Dive deeper into topics including:

  • Healthy vs. unhealthy dynamics to spot red and green flags early
  • Exploring roles and headspaces for healing
  • Understanding and navigating triggers
  • Therapeutic concepts such as window of tolerance, titration, and pacing
