Ready to level up from single columns?
In chapter 8 of our beginner series, students will learn the versatile double column cuff and use it to build the classic “bunny ears” tie; one of the most recognizable forms in Japanese rope bondage.
In class we’ll discuss and practice intentional rope handling, thoughtful body positioning, and awareness of how shape changes sensation and meaning. The “bunny ears” posture can evoke experiences of vulnerability, exposure, playfulness, and erotic shame; these qualities that have made it an enduring and iconic form in shibari culture. Bottoms will practice checking in with their own mobility and emotional response in this pose.
Build new technical skills, deepen your understanding of rope as an expressive tool, and experience why these classic ties continue to resonate today.
What to bring: 1-2 hanks of rope. It is recommended to have a partner to participate in all class exercises but solo practitioners are welcome to join and observe.
Pre-requisities: This is class #8 in our beginner series and should be considered a 102 level class (some prior experience required). Riggers must have prior experience on how to tie a single column cuffs and a cinch (kannuki). Bottoms and riggers must have prior knowledge on rope safety, especially nerve safety for tying rope on the arms.
Please arrive on time, as late entry may not be permitted due to the structured nature of the material.
