Bonobo Picnic - September

Bonobo Picnic

Sunday, September 13th, 2026

1PM - 4PM

Bushrod Park 560 59th St, Oakland, CA 94609

Join us for a relaxed Bonobo Picnic open to members and their personal guests only!

This is a low-stakes, zero-pressure social gathering where we can spend time together, make new connections, deepen existing ones, and enjoy community outside of a play environment. Whether you’re brand new or have been around for years, this is a lovely chance to get to know one another in a casual daytime setting.

Since it’s lunchtime, we encourage folks to bring a dish, snack, or drinks to share if they’d like! Contributions are absolutely welcome, especially if you have vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or other dietary-friendly options to add to the spread.

You’re welcome to bring friends, partners, or lovers who have never attended a Bonobo event but may be interested in our community. Got kids? Feel free to bring them too — at the considerable risk of them overhearing tremendously adult conversations.

Please do not share this event on public calendars, public social media, or listservs.

If you do bring guests, please invite people who would genuinely be a great fit for our culture and values. We’re building a community of people who treat one another kindly, empathetically, consensually, inclusively, pleasurably, and supportively. Folks who value connection over anonymity. Folks who understand that play parties are high-possibility, low-expectation spaces. Folks who value communication, consent, accountability, curiosity, and care.

Do you know those people? Because those are exactly the kinds of humans we’d love to welcome into our community.

BUSHROD PARK

We’ll be gathering in the grassy area off of 59th Street near the playground and recreation center.

Important parking note: Please do NOT park in the recreation center parking lot if the gates are open. That lot is reserved for recreation center events, and cars may be locked inside once the event ends.

Instead, please park along the surrounding neighborhood streets near the park.
