Burn & Bind | A Beginner Rope & Wax Play Workshop

Discover the fundamentals of shibari and wax play in this beginner-oriented workshop. Led by Gisella Thorn - a queer, seasoned performance artist with eight years of experience in the San Diego rope scene and extensive teaching experience. Joined by Vera VerMillion - a skilled dancer, artist and favored rope bottom of Gisella. 🖤

This workshop will cover essential rope safety—including vetting, consent, negotiation, risk awareness, basic anatomy, and aftercare—along with foundational rope and wax play techniques, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.

All instruction will be catered to self tying or optional partner practice.

Class size is limited to 8 students to ensure personalized instruction and a comfortable learning environment.

Students take home a mini body wax play candle made locally by Thorn Candles!
