Anatomy of Aftercare: Short-term or Long Game
Presented by: MzB_Having (MzB')
Aftercare doesn't always end when the scene is over. What happens when the effects of play doesn’t end the next morning or after a few days?
Appropriate aftercare isn't just recovering from one scene, it's facilitating healthful future opportunities for sustainable scenes.
Anatomy of Aftercare: Short-term or Long Game, takes a broader look at caring for our bodies, partners, and our relationships over time.
What happens when a body changes over the course of a relationship?
Aging, injury, illness or disability can influence what a safe scene is for your partner.
That spanking that felt yummy last month now seems problematic for your partner.
How do we recognize body changes before it becomes a problem?
What happens when pain tolerances mask tissue or nerve damage?
How do we adapt a favorite activity without losing what makes your play relationship meaningful?
Physical limitations can affect the way we play. Course goal is to aid in recognizing, adapting, and minimizing risk for sustainable play and continue to find meaningful ways to connect when our body doesn't want to cooperate.
Relationships/Dynamics don't always follow the path we imagine. Shit happens. An 'Exit' strategy or planning for the difficult circumstances when a partner can no longer participate is all apart of Aftercare.
