Come celebrate on the eve of Samhain. A night for ghouls and gals to commune with the spirits and enjoy a spell or two. Join us for our special Halloween edition of Ember After Dark: Spellbound!
Our very own Veronica Bights (@VeronicaBights) will enchant us with a bewitching performance.
Bella (@lu_bella_rope) has acquired herself a new pet, Bunny (@salty.bunnyy). Unfortunately, it’s feral, undead, and perpetually hungry. A visceral, playful descent into rope, restraint, creature work, and campy zombie horror.
Finally, Kitt (@_dommie_mommy) will boldly call out to what lurks in the dark by performing her ritual sacrifice with Nic (@rancidpineapple) We will be offering prizes and extras throughout the night.
While we encourage everyone to dress up for the night, it's not required to help summon these spirits.
About your performers: From her first shibari experience in 2022, Veronica was roped in and hasn’t looked back! As a self-tier and switch, she truly loves all sides of rope. Some of her favorite aspects of rope are the creativity and the never ending ability to learn more. What started as a hobby has now turned into a passion of connection, teaching, and performing. Veronica is a co-founder and instructor at Ember Society. Bella+Bunny are a shibari performance and teaching duo who have spent nearly four years creating together in rope. Bella is a shibari switch with more than eight years of experience and is a co-founder and instructor at Ember Society in San Diego. Maeve (Salty Bunny) brings a background in shibari bottoming, burlesque, dance, aerial arts, acrobatics, and more than two decades of movement and performance. Together, Bella+Bunny blend their different backgrounds into rope that is dynamic, expressive, and distinctly their own. Their performances often wander into the playful, theatrical, strange, and occasionally dark, using shibari as both an art form and a vehicle for storytelling. Kitt is a rope artist, educator, creative producer, and experiential storyteller, Kitt’s work explores the fluid relationship between movement, aesthetics, sensation, and connection. Having spent her career bringing ambitious creative visions to life across entertainment, technology, and immersive design, she approaches rope as both a fine art medium and an evolving practice of exploration. Originally from Germany and raised in the Midwest, she spent her early years training extensively in ballet and jazz before transitioning into contemporary dance. That lifelong movement background fundamentally shapes how she understands body awareness, spatial presence, and physical communication. The very foundations that directly inform her rope practice today. She’s drawn to the powerful intersection of technical precision and emotional intention, where visual beauty (including the raw beauty of the "grotesque") and human vulnerability become inseparable. Nic has called Los Angeles home for over twenty years, weaving through the city's many alternative circles. A rope bottom in the early chapters of her practice, she is drawn to the paradox at the heart of being tied: feeling both deeply connected and disconnected at the same time. In the space between tension and surrender, she brings a quiet, intentional presence, letting the rope draw the shape and the body answer.
