Filming the 'My Pussy Is the Ocean' Music Video

A little over a year ago, I went to a week-long songwriting workshop with Kesha at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur. Although I'm an epidemiologist, not a musician, I wrote a song called “My Pussy Is the Ocean.”

It was a huge hit at the retreat!

I then got connected to songwriter Hrishi Balaji and music producer Jonny Avery, who helped me make it even more badass—and write 12 more songs.

Now I have a 13-song album, I Thought It Started with Me, that mirrors the arc of my memoir (which will be published next summer).

In anticipation of releasing the album and “My Pussy Is the Ocean” as a single, I’m working with videographer Yanni Philippou to make a kick-ass music video.
