Power, Subversion, and the Aesthetics of Fascism
---
Class Description
Leather folk have always been a group of people with language within their clothes. We adopt designs, colors, and symbols to communicate who we are and adopt authority and power through them. So what does it mean when we have this language of our clothes... and someone chooses to wear Nazi regalia and swastikas? These are some uncomfortable topics- and that's exactly why we should talk about them! Join Patrick Stevens as he investigates the origins of the leather aesthetic, discusses the culture we have built around the power in our clothes, and confronts some dark and toxic corners of our leather history.
