Foundations Presents: Spirituality in the Dungeon

This class will be held in person at the Folsom Street Community Center at 1286 Folsom street, San Francisco CA.

Spirituality in the Dungeon

---

Class Description

Aside from electroplay, the practices in our dungeons resemble those that have been done for thousands of years in most cultures throughout the world as spiritual practices. Some Christians today still practice mortification of the flesh, ecstatic religious services, and rituals honoring the sacredness of blood sacrifice. Body stress and pain creates states of transcendence (experiences above or beyond the range of physical human experience) and ecstasy (standing outside ourselves, rapture). This class talks about how we use this magical state to manifest those same spiritual experiences that have guided and healed our ancestors throughout history, from ancient lore to modern practices to hot-off-the-press science.

Presenter Bio

In the late 70's, SG entered the San Francisco leather community and sought education the only way that was available then, by apprenticing to a gay leather

couple. Since then, many others have contributed to his education, notably including several dozen who have served him over the years. He has taught at and supported Foundations since it began, as well as many leather conferences and events around the country. He created and has been facilitating HumanAlive for 10 years, a weekly program that supports authenticity in authority-exchange relationships.
