In this class, local maker and textile artist Alex Byrne will guide you through the basics of UV resin casting to create a beautiful and unique selection of resin jewelry (think earrings, pendant necklaces, and charms), keychains, coasters, and more! Casting with UV resin is a safe, minimal odor process which cures in minutes for fast and rewarding results. Alex will begin by showing you the basics of using UV resin with various resin molds, as well as demonstrating how to create fun color effects and add layers to each object. She’ll share helpful techniques for adding glitter, beads, dried flowers or leaves, and other tiny bits of decorative flare! And after curing for a few short minutes under a UV lamp, your resin masterpiece will be finished and ready to use! For jewelry items, Alex will show you how to attach any of the necessary hardware such as clasps, hoops, or posts. Each student will leave class with at least 3-4 individual objects, as well as the know-how to do more resin casting at home!

Interested in board or table top games? Stick around afterwards to try out the dice you just made or simply to socialize. Board games are provided and extra tables are available for other games.

Supplies Needed: None. All tools and supplies for this class are included.
