It's Not Rocket Science: Demystifying leather care

Are you curious about leather care? Does it feel intimidating and overwhelming to get started? Do you think a leather care kit needs every product under the sun? If you answer yes to any of these questions, you are invited to this class. In fact, this class was designed specifically for people like you. With a lighthearted approach, we’ll dive into the myths and reality of basic leather care. This is the place to ask questions you may have been hesitant to ask. Plus, some playful demos will highlight how easy it is to pick up new skills and even incorporate leather care into your play.

Proceeds from this class will go towards supporting both Ember Society and Suzy’s travel fund.

About your instructors: For nearly three decades, Suzy has been a vibrant force in the San Diego Leather community. Since diving into the scene in 1997, she’s built a reputation for authenticity, education, and embracing the edges of leather culture with confidence and heart. She currently holds the title of San Diego Bootblack 2026, and proudly served as Ms. San Diego Leather 1998–1999. An experienced educator, Suzy has taught across the country on many of her favorite topics, inspiring others to explore their authentic selves while honoring communication, connection, and consent. Suzy describes her play style as queer-centered, connective, empowered, and unapologetically adventurous. Whether it’s boots, cigars, singletails, fire flogging, primal energy, or simply embracing a little all-around fuckery, she believes in showing up fully and encouraging others to do the same.

Nichol dove into the San Diego kink & Leather community 12 years ago. She has served as a volunteer with Club X, 94th Aerosquadron, Ritual Steel, and now Ember Society! Does she look strangely familiar? Maybe you saw her demo bottom for workshops from whips to fire play, fucking machines to (ahem) manual stimulation, rope to fire play to caning...What's next?
