Doors open at 6:30pm and the doors will close and show start promptly at 7:30pm.

Pauline Massimo (no pronoun/they), interdisciplinary artist and teacher from Brazil based in Barcelona, Spain.

With more than 11 years of professional experience in the field of art, from painting, dance, performance, photography and Shibari to event organisation, space management, education, community building and artistic direction of projects.

They currently merges their artistic research and event organisation through their art space Espacio Nos in Barcelona, combined with other work as a freelance artist and teacher for other spaces or projects in Spain and internationally.

Pauline's artistic process explores improvisation and experimentation around interdisciplinary arts with a constant research towards history and current context. Their artworks are presented in different formats, mainly as live art performance, paintings and photography. Hired for external projects, where they collaborate closely with other artists and production managers to build custom pieces.

As a Shibari teacher, Pauline focuses more on a non-dogmatic study and analysis of different art forms, focusing on the personal process of each individual they work with. Motivated by the interdisciplinary aspects that can occur in some art forms and the impact of intersectionality on the socio-political spectrum. Offering workshops, group and private classes, coaching, consulting, personal experience sessions and lectures varying between multiple topics and for all levels of experience, their motto is to democratise and demystify Shibari.

Experience specifically in Shibari was born from a point of privilege where they were able to learn in a close and intense way with great Japanese Shibari masters of which Akechi Kanna, Naka Akira, Hajime Kinoko, Kazami Ranki, and a few others stand out. Although their participation in well known festivals/events/spaces around Europe and Brazil, and having links with different Shibari international communities gave them great experiences tying with, modelling for and hosting well known artists such as: Akeshi Kanna, Tamandua, Gorgone/Marika, Fuoco, Gestalta, Gandalf, George Barkas, Hua Hua, Ceci Ferox, and many more.

Pauline embraces in their technique and style both worlds of Shibari, where they learned from those same great masters the classical-Japanese approach and aesthetics. But with a deep admiration towards the evolution of this artform without erasing its history of origin, fuels their artistic restlessness with strokes of contemporary and experimental counterculture art, with a focused look towards the technical, functional and aesthetic advances that Shibari brings to all of us, as a practice as it really is: freeing artform.

Mariana Salazar (she/her), is an artist from Ensenada, Baja California, México with an exchange program in Cuenca, Spain.

Mariana, also known as Sensitive Synesthesic is a multidisciplinary artist and synesthete whose work is rooted in the exploration of emotions and the sensory realm.

Her desire to explore the human experience and the body as a tool has led her from illustration and abstract painting, to dance, music, performance, analog visuals and as a cultural agent.

Founder and organizer of ZineTalento festival of independent publications and oddities, Sensorama Immersive Experiences, Perrehadita Techno & Neoperreo among other projects.
