Meeting the Meta

Your partner’s partner... Where do you begin?

Meeting a metamour can bring up curiosity, excitement, nerves or feelings you weren’t expecting. A metamour, or “meta”, is your partner’s other partner.

Perhaps you’re preparing to meet for the first time and wondering what to say. Maybe you’ve already met, but you’re unsure how much connection you want. Or perhaps you feel pressure to become friends when you’d prefer a little more distance.

You can care about your partner’s happiness and still have questions about where their other relationships fit into your life.

You deserve somewhere to explore those questions without being told there’s only one right way to do polyamory.

Our small online circles connect people across countries and backgrounds, giving you a place to talk honestly, hear different perspectives and build friendships with people who understand.

What we’ll explore

• Your hopes, worries and expectations around meeting a metamour.

• How to approach a first meeting with less pressure.

• Different levels of metamour connection, from friendly distance to close friendship.

• Communicating boundaries around contact, shared spaces and personal information.

• Navigating comparison, jealousy or awkwardness.

• The role of your shared partner in supporting respectful communication.

You don’t have to become best friends with your metamour. You don’t have to meet before you feel ready.

There’s room to explore what feels comfortable for you while respecting everyone’s autonomy.

Whether you have a meeting coming up, an existing metamour relationship to reflect on or simply want to prepare for the future, you’re welcome.

Meeting like minded people...

Alongside the learning, you’ll meet people you can laugh with, relate to and get to know over time.

Friendship without dating pressure

This Circle is a space for friendship, support and learning. It is not a dating or matchmaking event.

You can ask honest questions about your relationships without any expectation of romantic connection within the group.

We welcome different ENM relationship structures and recognise that closeness between metamours is a choice, rather than a measure of how successfully you practise non-monogamy.

More than one workshop

Your subscription gives you a place in an ongoing ENM & Poly Circle with weekly online sessions.

Every other week features a focused workshop. The weeks in between offer space for sharing, questions, connection and support, so you can talk about how the learning unfolds in your everyday life.

Each private group has around 5 to 7 members, with a maximum of 9, giving everyone time to be heard and build trust. Facilitators bring lived ENM/Poly experience to structured, non-judgmental sessions.

Meeting regularly means you can move beyond introductions and build friendships with people who get to know you and your story. Those connections can continue outside sessions through messages, phone calls and, where circumstances allow, meeting in person.

Learn to handle relationship bumps with more confidence while laughing and learning with friends who get it.

All ENM relationship styles are welcome. Current members range from their 20s through their 70s.

Reduced rates are available for students and public servants, including teachers, nurses and social workers. Ask during your vetting call!

Vetting and confidentiality

Everyone completes a free vetting call and signs a confidentiality agreement before joining, helping protect privacy and establish respectful participation.

The call is a friendly conversation about your needs, availability and whether the Circle is a suitable fit.

It is not an attractiveness assessment or a test of your ENM knowledge. We welcome heart-centred, respectful people seeking genuine connection.

We agree to respect different relationship structures, allow nuanced conversation and honour one another’s boundaries.
