Thank you to everyone who donated to the crowdfunding campaign for Mission Control and helped make these much-needed updates possible. Because of this incredible community… construction has officially begun at Mission Control!

We are adding TWO new bathrooms — including an accessible bathroom — and remodeling the office space to create even more social room for the community to enjoy.

Some of you have already seen pieces of the transformation happening:

✨ Coat check and office items moved out

✨ Floors and walls torn up

✨ Framing built for the new bathrooms

✨ New plumbing and exhaust fans installed

✨ Major progress already underway

Change is happening, and it’s all because of this wonderful community.

The first major phase of construction will be completed by Tuesday the 2nd, just in time for our next party — SnuggleSpells on Friday the 5th! While the bathrooms will be functional for the event, some finishing touches like tile, trim, and paint will still be in progress. The office is being done in several phases and will be usable, but the social space will not be expanded yet.

This is where we need your help!

We’re gathering the community together to:

🛋 Move furniture back into place

🗑 Haul trash and construction debris out for pickup

🧼 Help reset and refresh the space

💪 Pitch in wherever needed

🎉 Celebrate the progress together

No special skills required — just clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, good energy, and love for the community space we all share.

Let's come together to make our community space even more welcoming. Members, Volunteers, esteemed Allies, endowed Crew and newcomers WELCOME! Long time member? Haven't seen the space or met many of the members? Only have an hour? Feel free to come for the entire event or just drop by for a bit. No specific skills are required – just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to contribute.

Volunteering is a great way to meet people, and feel involved in the community! This is an open house event, and no PAL is required. However, it's a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and potentially find a PAL if you are new to the community. So whether you want to scrub and shimmy, showcase your strength by hauling things around, or offer creative decor suggestions, your presence is valued.

Did you know that Mission Control is fully volunteer-run? This entire space exists because people care enough to show up, contribute, and help build something meaningful together. This is truly a labor of love.

Come prepared to connect with fellow community members, make new friends, and collectively clean up to make a more lovely environment for the year ahead.

Potluck Sharing: While we'll be providing some food, we encourage you to bring more to share, especially if you have specific dietary restrictions. Let's create a diverse and delicious spread that caters to everyone's tastes. Your thoughtful contributions will add to the warmth of our gathering.
