Non-Monogamous Women and Femmes Support Group

  • 10 people on the list-

An environment to discuss the challenges and joys of non-monogamous life and how they may affect us with other women & femmes.

There are lots of non-monogamous experiences that are hard to talk about with our monogamous friends, and having a space to talk about these experiences and feelings in an accepting environment can be really important. Additionally, there are cultural norms and expectations that are placed on people in gendered ways that impact our interpersonal relationships, and so folks who interact with the world from a feminine position, whether they were raised that way or not, have specific experiences in relationships that often need further discussion, unpacking and consideration as folks move through non-monogamy. Cultural expectations of women as mothers, wives, all-sacrificing givers are in many ways incompatible with the philosophical underpinnings of how we want to be relating in NM relationships... but they color our day-to-day choices and relationships nonetheless. So let's be a supportive and safe(r) space for discussion of these issues with one another, once every couple weeks from March through mid-June.

Join us for one session or all of them, as you can. We'd love to have you and get into some of these issues that are touching our lives all the time. Each meeting will be 90 minutes, and held over Zoom. They're priced at $10 a person to try to keep them accessible. If you have the means and want to purchase the "scholarship fund" add on that will be used to give seats to folks who have expressed interest but can't afford tickets, and any extra (if applicable) will go toward ticket scholarships for digital classes I run this spring and summer.

This group is facilitated by Laura Boyle (@readyforpolyamory on social media), a relationship coach and the author of the forthcoming Monogamy? In this Economy?: Finances, Childrearing, and Other Practical Concerns of Polyamory, a book based on surveying and interviewing hundreds of very kind and generous polyam folks who shared details of their lives with her. Laura has been writing and teaching about non-monogamy since 2018 and in non-monogamous relationships since 2007.
