Non-monogamy Discussion Group Vancouver - JULY Event

Welcome to the Non-Monogamy Discussion Group Vancouver! We will be meeting the THIRD Monday of the month at Cross and Crows Books . Bring your ideas, questions and opinions!

July Topic: Privacy, Transparency & Consent

Non-monogamy often involves balancing transparency with privacy. We may want to keep our partners informed while also respecting our own boundaries and the privacy of other partners. Finding that balance isn't always straightforward. What do we have consent to share? How much do we tell our partners? Where is the line between privacy and secrecy?

This month, we're exploring how privacy, transparency, and consent show up in our relationships and polycules. While honesty is often held up as a core value in non-monogamy, people can have very different expectations around communication, disclosure and trust.

Some questions we may explore:

-What is the difference between privacy and secrecy?

-What information do you expect partners to share with you? What information do you expect partners to keep to themselves?

-How do you navigate consent when talking about partners with other partners?

-How do we handle situations where different people have different expectations around disclosure?

This is a peer-to-peer discussion about respecting the autonomy and privacy of everyone involved while not being dishonest about our non-monogamy.
