Workshop Description

For established relationships considering polyamory for the first time, join Fox M., The Polyamory Therapist, to learn effective ways to support yourself, Lover(s) and metamours when opening up your relationship.

  • Learn about specific relationship skills and the foundations of healthy polyamory to support you in opening up your relationship; with an emphasis on consent, communication, trust, transparency, compassion and self-care.
  • Reflect on your personal needs, desires and boundaries within polyamory and answering the question — “why are you drawn to polyamory.”
  • Become aware of the benefits and struggles of polyamory in order to manage expectations and care for yourself, Lover(s) and metamours.
  • Understand how to acknowledge and manage difficult feelings such as jealousy and fear, as well as how to navigate when agreements are broken.
  • Understand the importance of boundaries and agreements when it comes to dating, time management, defining what is sex is and navigating sexual health.
  • Discuss the importance of building a community within polyamory.

Educator Bio

Fox M. (she/her) is an inclusive, 2slgbtqia+ affirmative and culturally responsive Therapist (certified in Sex Therapy, trained in EMDR and trauma informed). She has a deep passion for working with individuals on the impacts of trauma, identity exploration, self-worth, shame, infidelity, sex related topics and purpose; as well as with all intimate relationship types and lifestyles, including kink, BDSM, monogamy and consensual non-monogamy (CNM) / polyamory. She is also in progress of attaining a certification in CNM Relationships from the Sexual Health Alliance.

Fox identifies as a pansexual, panromantic, polyamorous, bi-racial, Black & BIPOC femme person. Having endured an adverse upbringing, her struggles have inspired her to help others by looking at the many factors that have impacted and shaped who we are, so that we can become our authentic selves.
