VoxBody is so excited to welcome Bänana & Chocolapain (FRANCE) during their U.S. tour!

Join us for one or both days March 30 Predicament Experiences & March 31 Kinbaku without Chest Harnesses.

About Predicament Experiences :

Predicament means "difficult situation". This type of bondage aims to create distress or even a struggle for the person in the ropes. It often plays with balance and imbalance, as well as the control and release of the tied person.

Through playful bondages, we will explore predicaments both in their physical and psychological aspects.

People who want to switch are welcome to do so. This will be possible between exercises!

Pre-requisites:

This course is suitable for riggers who know how to build the main harnesses we will use in class (any style of TK, structured lacing, structured futomomo) and have a solid basis in floorwork.

It's not essential to have already tied in partial-suspension to attend this course, as we'll take the time to explain how to lock a suspension line and insist on a few safety principles. Of course, if you had already semi-suspended, you're welcome to join us too, and there'll be plenty of new things to try out!

Communication being a central element in Shibari it's always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience. It's also necessary for the person being tied to have previous experience in rope, in TK, and the ability to distinguish between circulation and nerve issues.

Material:

A minimum of 6-8 jute ropes (or hemp), ideally 6mm in diameter and averaging 7-8 meters in length will be required.

* We will take a one-hour lunch break midday.

About the presenters:

Bänana (she/her),

a ten-year bondage enthusiast, found her passion in shibari in 2017, drawn to its raw and authentic nature.

As she has always been fascinated by the expression of emotions, shibari, and more specifically semenawa, has opened up a new path of exploration to her. She began to follow Docvale’s teaching in November 2018, later partnering with him to co- manage Atelier Simonet in Paris until summer 2023.

Bänana considers that in order to tie well, we must understand each of our technical choices rather than learning the instructions by heart. She gives to her students a solid grounding so they can feel free while tying and put these technical abilities at the service of the relationship with their partners.

Being in ropes is also something to be apprehended. Not that you have to behave in any particular way. On the contrary, every tied-up person has to find the way that pleases him or her. It's also a long journey full of questions and emotions, and it seems important to Bänana that all this is taken into account during her courses.

Bänana's courses are so often highly interactive, with the idea that everyone should have a place to ask questions and express their experiences and feedback in order to grow together in this practice.

Chocolapain (she/her)

Marion has been modeling for shibari since 2017. She has been interested in many different ways of practicing ropes before finding that Semenawa matched her desires. She has been practicing with Bänana for 4 years now especially for classes, public sessions, shootings ... She also likes to tie and has been learning for 2 years with Bänana who trains her!
