Queer Camp & Climb

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Donner Summit Climbing Meetup & Campout

Join me, Shea Freedom, a Black queer trans climber, AMGA Single Pitch Instructor (SPI), and Wilderness First Responder (WFR), for a weekend of climbing, camping, and community.

This meetup is centered on creating a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ , BIPOC communities and allies to connect through a shared love of climbing. Whether you're looking to meet new climbing partners, build confidence outside, or simply spend time in good company, you're welcome here.

This is a community meetup—not a guided climbing experience.

📍 Climbing: Donner Summit

🏕️ Camping: Five private acres in Grass Valley with a year-round creek. Creek is clothing optional. Please respect the land, one another, and Leave No Trace principles.

💵Cost: $100 per person

🧗🏽‍♂️Attendees: 12 spots available

Participants Must Bring

* Climbing harness

* Climbing shoes

* Camping gear (tent sleeping bag)

* Food & Food Storage

Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own rope, rack, quickdraws, and other climbing equipment.

Amenities:

Camp stove

Propane grill

WiFi

Compost toilet

Everyone is responsible for their own climbing decisions, equipment, and safety.

This gathering is about building community, sharing knowledge, climbing together, and enjoying a weekend outdoors in an affirming environment. Come as you are, make new friends, and help create a space where everyone can feel welcome on the rock.
