💋 Queer Clothing Swap of Dreams 💋

Come swap clothes, lounge in the sun, compliment hot strangers, collect new treasures, and soak up some queer community.

Pop by for 20 minutes or stay the whole afternoon. Bring a blanket, snack, chair, book, friend, crush, or your best life.

We'll be on the grass at Lake Merritt near where Madison Street meets the lake.

👗 WHAT TO BRING

Bring up to 10 clean, well-kept gems you'd be thrilled to see another queer human wearing to the Dyke March, the Trans March, a queer + snazzy date, a drag brunch, a nonprofit gala, their hot new professional headshot session, their fabulous everyday gay gay gay (or queer youth!) life. Such as clothes that are:

All sizes. All genders. All decades. Youth, curvy, plus, big-and-tall, and everything in between.

🚫 PLEASE DON'T BRING

• Your donation bag! If you're thinking, "Maybe somebody can use this old 5K fun run shirt with a stain?" ... no thank you. :)

• Stained, damaged, or overly-worn items

• Broken zippers, broken jewels, or things needing repair

• Shoes (they almost never get taken)

• Household items (ditto ^)

• Random junk ^

• Dogs that disrupt more than a porcelain dog statue would.

🌞 HOW IT WORKS

• Put up to 10 treasures on the swap quilt.
• Browse the items + hear stories about them.
• Try things on over your clothes.
• Say "hi" to strangers.
• Claim new treasures.
• Repeat.

There's no formal trading circle, no group introductions. Just a bunch of queers + lbgtqai families/allies hanging out in the sunshine.

✨ GOOD TO KNOW

• Kids, babies, and teens are welcome with you

• Queer-curious folks and late-in-life LGBTQs are welcome

• Allies are welcome if you regularly spend time in queer/trans-affirming spaces

• No body-bashing or age-shaming ("I'm too old for this," "muffin top," etc.). If something doesn't fit, let's blame the clothing, not our glorious queer bodies.

• No barking dogs, please 😇

• Bring your own picnic setup and snacks ☀️ Come picnic - even if you don't have anything to swap. We need people taking treasures - and cheering on those who do - as much as we need people bringing them.
