A casual get together of bootblacks, those curious, and friends of bootblacks! An opportunity to have those connections and conversations we would start to have when working the stands at an event, without the interruptions of being on a bootblack shift. Welcome all levels of experience (or inexperience)!

Rise and Shine has been going on for a year at this point! I am so grateful for all the support and participation. With it now being a year, and feeling a little more settled with the event, I’m introducing a new addition to Rise and Shine! Occasionally a Rise and Shine will have a focus topic, while the event will continue as regular, those interested can join the presenter for a focused skill share on a specific topic within bootblacking. The focus topics will usually take place for the middle hour of the event.

Kicking off our first ever focus topic will be @bootpupRowdy with "What the Schmutz?!"

Join Pup Rowdy for a skillshare focused on light restoration work. He'll cover some of the most frequently seen issues here in Southern CA including bloom and verdigris.

Though this is an 18+ event, Dojo Cafe is a public business that may have families present so please dress or choose your projects accordingly.

Space is completely outdoors so dress or prepare accordingly.

A local resource group will be doing a clothing donation and giveaway on the large part of the patio, so feel free to bring clothing with you to donate! In order to allow them space, we will likely set up in the back left corner.
