I wanted to bring back a little childhood nostalgia and share it with our lovely community. I’ve always enjoyed getting dressed up, placing a couple of friendly wagers, and just soaking up the whole atmosphere of a day at the races — nothing too serious, just good times. ❤️

For opening weekend, let’s make a whole-day of it! We’ll get there around gates open at 11 AM, find a spot around the paddock/grandstand area, and spend the day wandering around, watching the races, enjoying the entertainment, and generally seeing what Santa Anita has going on.

And this weekend has an extra bit of fun: The English Pub on the Apron is happening! 🇬🇧

📍 THE PLAN

This isn't a formal hosted event or anything complicated — just come hang!

We'll be relying pretty heavily on this group chat throughout the day to coordinate our landing zones, where we're sitting, where people are wandering off to, and how to find everyone. So keep an eye on the chat if you're coming, especially if you arrive later.

I'll post where we're sitting once we get there, and you can come find us. If we move, we'll update the chat.

I'm also going to try to wear something obnoxious enough that you can spot me from across the paddock 😂 So if you're looking around thinking "which group of weirdos is ours?"... hopefully it'll be obvious.

Dress up if that's your thing, wear something ridiculous if that's your thing, or just come comfortable. A couple friendly bets, some drinks/food, horses running by, and a bunch of cool people sounds like a pretty damn good Saturday to me.

And we're doing it all at Santa Anita, where Seabiscuit once raced. 🏇❤️
