You've put together some patterns, and you've tied some people, but how do you make it h-o-t?!
Why stop at one? Register for The Element of Surprise in Tying and unlock 25% off Scene-ing with Ropes (8/22, 5-7pm), automatically. Your discount code will arrive in your inbox, ready to use.
If you've ever attempted a tie with the intention of creating something powerful and sensual, but it ended up feeling more like making friendship bracelets at day camp, this class is perfect for you.
We'll discuss strategies for turning our technical tying skills into intentional scenes through body manipulation, misdirection, touch, and more, and talk about making our harness tying process an exciting and fun part of our scenes.
This class is for all levels of rope students who have some experience and want to start bringing scene energy into their technical ties.
Prerequisites: Some previous experience tying any kind of basic patterns, harnesses, etc, is a plus.
You must be able to tie a single column to participate in this class.
Even advanced students may get a lot out of this class!
About the presenters:
Sluttyhands (he/him) and Dancehalldyke (she/her) are San Francisco Bay based rope artists. Sluttyhands has been tying for eleven years, Dancehalldyke for eight. They both primarily tie in fairly traditional Japanese styles while working in dynamic transitions and emotional tension. Their tying together typically focuses on going to dark and vulnerable places and playing with strong emotions, ranging from violent and rough to creepy and distant, and occasionally even to sincere and loving.
To their rope classes, Dancehalldyke brings her past as a classical ballet person and 15 years of experience teaching collegiate math and physics, and is a student of Barkas. Sluttyhands brings in a martial arts background, a past as a math and computer science professor, and a love of fast-paced, restrictive, and challenging shapes and sequences. They have been teaching rope together nationally and internationally for 3 years, and have presented together and separately at Vox Body Studio, Temple New York, Dark Odyssey, Beach Bind, Northern Exposure Alaska, Birdhaus Toronto, The Jungle House Costa Rica, and more. Their performances have been featured at Twisted Windows, Seattle Erotic Arts Festival, Folsom Street Fair, SF Pride, Kinkfest, VoxBody Studio, and more.

Community Care

Intoxicants & Altered States
We do not sell or serve alcohol at this venue.
We recognize that substances affect capacity to consent, and we prioritize everyone's safety. If you appear unable to give or receive clear consent, a host may check in with you privately. Continued concern may result in being asked to pause play or step outside. This is never a punishment, but a community care measure. Our priority is keeping everyone safe and able to enjoy the space.
Health and Hygiene
Respect the Space
Treat staff, hosts, and the venue with care and courtesy. Return any equipment to its proper place and report any damage or safety concerns to a host immediately.
We love our kinky community because there is such a sense of care for people and spaces, and we ask everyone to help us leave the space better than you found it. That could look like letting us know if paper products need to be restocked in the restrooms, or recycling any random cups or cans you see sitting around. The little things go a long way!
