Sharps Play: An Introduction to Needles and Staples w/ Addy & Kit

TICKETS

Sharps play is the practice of piercing or cutting skin in the context of BDSM. Sharps scenes can run the gamut from sadistic to artistic to silly or even meditative, and they often involve blood. While there are many types of sharps, needles and staples are some of the most accessible to begin working with and will be the focus of this class.

The goal is for you to gain the knowledge you need to make informed decisions and feel prepared to start your sharps journey.

The class will cover:

  • The essential considerations for sharps play
  • How to think about your risk profile for sharps
  • Preparing a sharps play environment
  • What to include in a basic sharps kit
  • Practical negotiation tips
  • Basic needle and staple techniques for sharps play
  • Resources for further learning

We’ll have a lecture component and a live demonstration of negotiation and basic techniques. No prior experience with sharps is required for the class.

Presenter Bio:

Addy (she/her, Fetlife: CuriousxTen) is a switchy kinkster with many kink interests but a special love for sharps and electrical play. She really enjoys helping people learn new skills and has taught for Wicked Grounds, Society of Janus, Let it Reign, and Dark Odyssey. You’ll often find her in joyous and or/painful scenes regardless of which role she is taking. Outside of kink she is a maker, a petter of cats, a creme brulee aficionado, and loves making people laugh.

Kit (she/they, Fetlife: KitfoxInBoots) is a queer, switchy kinkster with an adorable fox persona. She dabbles in many kinky practices but has a special affinity for sharps, blood, and bondage. Her teaching experience includes demos and classes for SoJ’s Folsom Street Fair stage, Reign of Blood, and Dark Odyssey: Surrender. Outside of kink she loves spending time with loved ones, especially outside in nature, and always has a project (or two or three) that she’s working on.

Advance tickets required. No tickets will be sold at the door.
