By the end of this course, you will have a shared rope language, a repeatable approach to scenes, and the confidence to build ties with intention and deliver an environment that is sure to deliver, rather than guessing your way forward.

What This Course Delivers

Shibari 201 gives you something most rope classes do not.

Continuity.

Each class builds directly on the last. Concepts, techniques, and communication skills are introduced, practiced, refined, and integrated across four sessions. You are not starting over each week. You are progressing.

You will leave this course knowing not just how to tie, but how to think in rope.

Course Structure

This course consists of four three-hour classes, totaling 12 hours of instruction.

Class 1: Focus on Intention 1

Control rope direction and purpose, recognize key aspects of advanced rope

Class 2: Focus on Intention 2

Delivering emotions, creating tension, and climactic experiences

Class 3: Environment 1

Deeper understanding of directionality and intention with rope

Class 4: Environment 2

Integration, Arms-in, Controlling the Environment

This structure allows skills to settle, questions to surface, and confidence to develop naturally.

This course assumes strong familiarity with rope basics, safety, and consent. Completion of the Getting Started class and 101 Series Course gives you what you need.

What You Will Learn

Throughout the course, you will develop skills in:

• Clear negotiation and boundary setting at a 201 level

• Scene structure and intentional flow to set the environment

• Directional rope handling, frictions, and hitches

• Multiple applications of directional rope

• Takate-Kote Chest harnesses and structural body ties

• Combining elements of intention and environment into complete, functional ties

Each skill is taught in context, with an emphasis on why it matters and how it supports safety, connection, and creativity.

Four three-hour classes held on weeknights.

Classes are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, bi-monthly, and must be taken in sequential order.

Class 1: September 9th

Doors open at 6:30 PM

Doors lock at 6:50 PM

Class begins promptly at 7:00 PM

Consistent attendance matters. Each class builds on the previous one.
