Ready to begin your journey into partial suspension? In this intermediate workshop, we move beyond basic suspension mechanics to explore the human body as a dynamic form. We will study how elevating arms and legs in different combinations and heights alters tension, balance, and aesthetic lines. You will gain hands-on experience navigating joint support, body mechanics and manipulation, weight distribution, and comfortable posing in partial flight.
Prerequisites: Informed consenting bottoms with some suspension experience or participation in intermediate level classes. Intermediate understanding of rope fundamentals, frictions, and patterns, plus prior knowledge of suspension hangers, belays, and lock-offs. Previous bootcamp attendance is not required, but a skills check of hangers and lock-offs is required for class participation.
Contact education@embersociety.org to schedule a skills check before class.
What to Bring: Rope, Safety Shears, and Suspension gear (POSH, Climbing Slings, Carabiners, Rings, Swivels) are required. Bottoms, please wear comfortable, snug-fitting clothing that allows freedom of movement.
