The Alembic Celebrates: A Day of Practice and Community

The Alembic founders, board, and crew warmly invite you to a day of practice and revelry at the Alembic, and to join us in celebrating our new managing director Anisa Charucksiri.

Alembic is entering a new phase. To show off a few of our offerings, we have asked eight of our teachers to showcase their work through the afternoon and into the night — art, meditation, voice, dance, somatic connection, and kirtan. Throughout the day, the lobby remains open for tea, snacks, and hanging out.

In the late afternoon, we'll gather together in community to celebrate the present and future of the Alembic experiment. Co-founders Michael Taft and Erik Davis will share some long-term visions, while board member Leela Henderson will introduce and honor Anisa, a seasoned leader in contemplative programming and community building as well as an Alembic regular. Michael Taft will offer a guided meditation, and then the evening loosens — dancing, kirtan, and fun until the night is spent. Food trucks will be available from 5pm onward, as well as a special tea service in the lounge.

Come in your autumn finery or simply as you are. If it’s been a while since you’ve been through our doors, come back and reconnect. Bring a friend, meet someone new, find a familiar face, discover a new teacher, and spend time in good company. This is a day for the Alembic community and the Alembic curious to gather around our alchemical hearth and enjoy the dynamic warmth of renewal.

It is also a day to remember that the Alembic is a non-profit organization that relies on your support to keep our doors open. While a single ticket gets you into all the day’s events, please consider paying more if you can.
