Join us for a 30-minute breathwork experience followed by a Q&A where we answer the question, “what’s really happening in your body as we breathe?” as well as closing journal reflections. This particular practice is rooted in the sanskrit term, swadyaya, or self-study, so bring your curiosity, but absolutely no experience is necessary.
All levels welcome. The experience will be lying down, so bring a small pillow or blanket if you’ll be more comfortable that way. We will take deep inhales and exhales through the mouth, split up by retentions, or holds. Modifications will be guided to intensify or calm the experience. Leave your expectations at the door, come with an open mind, and expect to deepen your somatic relationship with your body and mind.

About your teacher Grace Pilar was born and raised on the east coast but has lived in San Diego for the past 5 years. Her interest in embodied practices began with studying traditional medicine with the School for International Training in northern India, followed by her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Nikki Rae Bose and breathwork facilitator training with John Lee Beck here in San Diego. Grace Pilar primarily enjoys teaching philosophy, nervous system regulation, and slower styles of asana, or postures. Fun fact: she also teaches goat yoga!
