UNARMORED
An evening to learn how to stop second-guessing yourself, so you can feel more confident, connected, and at ease in your life outside work.
Maybe you've said some version of this to yourself:
"I want to stop thinking about work when I'm supposed to be enjoying myself."
"I want people in my life who know me beyond what I do."
"I want to feel confident with a woman I'm attracted to."
Unarmored is a guided, 2½-hour evening in San Francisco for men who are tired of being in their heads all the damn time, solving work problems non-stop, when they most want to be fully present for their relationships and the life they've created.
It's a guided evening for men who know how to make things happen at work and want more confidence in dating, sex, and the rest of their lives, at a time when masculinity feels so weaponized.
What gets in the way
You've gotten good at handling things. So good that even the people closest to you may not notice when you're having a hard time and need support. You keep showing up, keep delivering, and tell yourself you'll relax once the next thing is done.
But that day never comes.
The mind never stops. Building, solving, optimizing. Even rest isn't really rest.
There are people you can call for an introduction, a drink, or advice about work. But who would you call if you were struggling, and didn't want to pretend you had it handled?
You can be good at solving problems and still find that trying harder makes you more self-conscious on a date, more distracted during sex, or less able to enjoy a night off. The approach that works so well at work doesn't work everywhere.
And there's another layer. You know the kind of man you don't want to be. Pushy. Controlling. Entitled. But sometimes, in trying so hard not to cross a line, you stop expressing what you want at all. You may have received plenty of warnings about getting it wrong, with women, in desire, in leadership, and very little guidance on how to feel comfortable being yourself.
You want to be considerate and still be direct. Feel desire without being ashamed of it. Have confidence without needing to dominate.
None of this is a failing. Being capable doesn't mean you've had guidance in every part of life. You can learn to handle uncertainty, attraction, and closeness with more confidence too.
A different approach
This evening offers a different way to work with that mental noise, using guided physical exercises and attention to what's happening in the moment. It isn't another lecture about relaxing. It's practice: noticing when you've gone into your head, and learning how to come back to what's actually in front of you.
What the evening looks like
This is a small, facilitated workshop with up to 12 men. I'll guide breathing and movement exercises, offer prompts for discussion, and explain each activity before we begin. You decide which exercises to join and what you want to share.
Arriving. A short grounding practice to help you settle into an unfamiliar room and shake off the awkwardness of showing up somewhere new.
Getting out of your head. Guided breath and movement exercises to help you notice when you start mentally monitoring yourself, and redirect your attention to sensation and the moment you're in. This is the same skill that lets you actually enjoy a night off, a conversation, or a date.
Working with what you've been holding. We'll explore how you tend to respond to emotions like anger, whether you suppress it, withdraw, or struggle to express it clearly, and work with guided ways of acknowledging it without directing it at another person. We'll also explore your experience of desire through guided breath and movement, including what happens when you judge it, suppress it, or get caught up in your thoughts about it.
Discussion. Discussion is guided, and you choose how much to contribute. Listening is a valid way to participate. There will be a paired exercise where sharing is encouraged but never required. You'll be witnessed at the depth you're ready to explore and be met in.
Taking it home. We'll close by naming what you noticed, and you'll leave with simple practices to find that presence again: at work, at home, and in your relationships.
Boundaries
The workshop is fully clothed. Sexuality is discussed, but there is no sexual activity, and there is no touching in this workshop. Every exercise is optional, and you choose what to share. This is an educational experience, not therapy.
Our agreements: We don't offer unsolicited advice, pressure anyone to share, or criticize another participant's experience. What's shared in the room stays in the room.
Why a woman leads this space/ About your facilitator
I'm Eva Rose, a VITA™ certified love, sex, and relationships coach with an emphasis in men's sexuality. My work is trauma-informed and somatic based (meaning based in the body). I have been guiding group experiences for 2 years.
In my work with men, I see the same pattern again and again: so many have learned to perform, around women, at work, even with friends. To say the right thing. To be the strong one, never the one who needs. And I've watched men shift from a mechanical way of being, moving through life like it's another task to execute, to actually being present and relaxing into their life outside of work.
If being around a woman brings up the urge to impress, hide, or get everything right, you may notice that here too. My role is to guide the exercises and uphold clear boundaries so you can participate without having to earn my approval.
I believe the way men are taught to be men has done them a massive disservice. It hands them a role to play and asks them to cut off half of who they are to play it. Healthy masculinity is uplifting, deeply kind, empathetic, enthusiastic, and powerful, in service of and in protection of the world, women, and children. Men deserve real guidance in becoming that, not just warnings about what not to be.
What men say
"Eva helped me find the way back to myself in a way that is repeatable and understandable. She navigated my questions and challenges with poise, grace, and compassion. I have been living with more confidence since starting our sessions together. She is a fantastic coach!"
— N.F.
"Eva Rose's coaching has guided me through myself and my desires with ease, expertise and brilliant humour. As someone who does a lot of heady self-reflection, being guided somatically has been life changing. Eva Rose listened to my nuanced desires so carefully. I felt completely respected, heard and celebrated in places where my body expects judgement."
