Visions and Vibrations is a show that brings together two incredible visionary women artists from the Bay Area. Mariela de la Paz and Vibrata Chromodoris have two very distinct styles, but they both tap into the heartbeat of nature and the soul of the world with their unique expressions.
Mariela de la Paz is a Chilean-born visionary painter based in Northern California. For four decades, her oil paintings have drawn on Tibetan Buddhist iconography, Mapuche tradition, sacred plant medicine, and the sacred feminine. Her work appears in TASCHEN’s Plant Magick and DoubleBlind Magazine.
In her symmetrical and geometrically patterned abstract paintings and sculptures, Vibrata Chromodoris (b. 1967) explores rhythms, reflections, and hypnotic perceptual distortions, conveying movement and interconnections through crisply-edged gradients and iterated shapes. Formally trained in traditional techniques yet self-taught in digital graphic arts, she spent years crafting immersive installations for multimedia festivals and visionary events—securing repeated production grants from False Profit LLC, the Do Lab, and the California Foundation for the Advancement of the Electronic Arts (2011–2019)—before anchoring her practice in a Vallejo, California studio.
Artist talk at 7pm. This event is FREE and will include snacks and wine.
