Think bondage means ropes and cuffs? Think again. This class presents one en-wrapturing alternative: the art of mummification! Explore a different kind of restraint that gradually encases and cocoons the body in layers to create an experience of containment, compression, sensation, and surrender.

We’ll cover:

  • Why mummification: What makes materials like pallet wrap and vet wrap unique from rope and other forms of bondage
  • Safety & Negotiation: How to explore safely and intentionally through communication and inclusive accommodations for different bodies and needs
  • Techniques & Somatics: Different ways to wrap the body, including partial restraint, full-body immobilization, grounding swaddling, more intense sensory play, and artistic display

Come learn the fundamentals of mummification, then stay for the jam to practice and explore among welcoming community!

What to Wear / What to Bring:

  • Comfortable clothes you can move and tie in. Tighter gym/active wear recommended. Avoid loose-fitting clothes for being wrapped. Loose clothes have a higher risk of accidentally being cut when removing vet/pallet wrap.
  • Something to take notes if you'd like.
