Ask Gombé (Tokyo): A Salon and Rope Jam

🎟️ $40 per person

💡 Admission for two is included in our weekend pass.

An open conversation and tying session with Gombé.

Gombé is a skilled Shibari artist and professional cuddler in Tokyo, celebrated for his unique approach that combines Japanese rope art with emotional depth and care. Inspired by the spirit of shudō, his work centers on creating strong, respectful connections that encourage clients to explore their true selves. Through his sessions — whether in kinbaku or comforting embrace — Gombé provides a space for self-reflection, inner strength, and genuine human connection.

This is a rare opportunity for in-depth discussion with someone who bridges modern rope and eroticized Japanese history (particularly shudō, which we're oversimplifying here as 'homoerotic mentorship between samurai').

The content is guided by the participants’ questions, challenges, and technical interests. Through live demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on exploration, we will investigate topics together as they arise. The workshop is not limited to rope techniques.

Depending on the interests of the participants, discussions may also include body awareness, tying masculine bodies, play, rope philosophy, and the creative process behind rope work.

Topics May Include:

  • Rope techniques
  • Approaches to tying masculine bodies
  • Body awareness and sensation
  • Play and interaction
  • Tension management
