Being ADHD or autistic (or both!) can make sex transcendent or transcendently complex. While being neurodiverse can make our sex lives more thrilling, it can also make intimacy complicated. It’s common for autistic folks to struggle with sensory challenges, unclear expectations, and communication differences while ADHD-ers may struggle with consistent desire, arousal, and interest, even when they are really into their partners.
This workshop is designed to help you learn more about navigating your unique nervous system, understand how your sensory needs may be impacting your sex life, develop communication tools that work for you and your partners about sex and self regulation skills to help keep you present so you can create the sex life you always yearned for. We will also chat about the crossovers between neurodiversity and BDSM, kink and non-monogamy because let’s be real, we know that Venn diagram is almost a circle.
Licensed psychotherapists Pam Shaffer, LMFT and Michal Lepley, LCSW from Best Self Psych will walk you through some of the basics about how neurodiversity impacts sex and what to do about it!
